What exactly is Medical Qi Gong
Healing
Medical Qigong is an ancient method of maintaining health and promoting longevity as well as
preventing and treating disease. In the word "Qigong","Qi" is translated to mean "Life Force
Energy". "Gong" means "cultivation" or "acquired skill through practice". When Life Force Energy is
properly cultivated in the body we are able to remain in good health,
physically, mentally and emotionally. Medical Qigong is one of the oldest branches of
Chinese medicine, predating acupuncture by thousands of years. Today, there are hundreds of medical
Qigong hospitals and clinics worldwide, treating dozens of ailments such as cancer, paralysis, asthma, migraines, stress and depression, anxiety, muscular atrophy,
hypertension, insomnia, diabetes, immune deficiency disorders and pain syndromes, Chronic Fatigue,
Fibromyalgia, Multiple sclerosis... Widely understood in China but little known in the West,
medical qi gong is a modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Medical qi gong is a way of
affecting and directing qi, or the life force, for medical benefit. Rather than using needles,
herbs, or massage, medical qi gong relies on the ability to direct qi with the mind, the hands, or
a ritual object, but without necessarily touching the body. Like its better known counterparts
acupuncture and herbal medicine, medical qi gong requires thorough knowledge of TCM scientific
theory. A medical qi gong practitioner should be at least as well-trained as an acupuncturist or
herbalist. To develop skill with medical qi gong, a practitioner needs to be highly disciplined,
with a very focused mind similar to that of a well-seasoned mediator. To practice medicine as
subtle as medical qi gong, a practitioner must have unusual abilities of subtle perception..

Medical Qigong Healing
Sessions
A Medical Qigong session is approximately one hour. Initial session can sometimes be longer.
Evaluation
This is the time where the therapist and client work together through a protocol of questions
and tests to evaluate the physical, emotional, and energetic condition of the client. Based on this
information the healer will formulate a treatment protocol.

Treatment
Since Qi can pass through air and clothing, so there is no need to take off any clothes.
The practitioner often works away from the client's body, and sometimes lightly touches the client
to guide and manipulate the movement of Qi along certain pathways. The client may feel varying
sensations as the Qi moves, such as warmth, tingling, coolness, vibration, and sometimes twitching
as the stagnant energy releases or empty conditions fill up with energy.
Included in the treatment are different methods such
as:
Tuina Massage
Gua Sha
Cupping
Facial Lymphatic Cupping Therapy
Acupressure
Invisible technique technique
pushing and pulling energies
Meridian treatments
Reflexology - Face, Feet and Korean Hand acupressure
...and many more Traditional Chinese Medicine practices.

Clients find the treatments extremely relaxing and rejuvenating. It is also possible that the
client may become aware of uncomfortable emotions that have been suppressed and have an emotional
release either during or after the treatment. The process is always very gentle and nurturing. The
primary goals of Medical Qigong therapy is to release toxic emotions from within the body's
tissues.
Prescriptions
After a healing session, the client is usually sent home with a certain type of homework to keep
the process of healing going. These homework assignments can vary from a certain qi gong protocol
of movements to maybe relaxation or visualizations....
